Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction techniques to enhance qubit stability and coherence times
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype quantum processors at cryogenic temperatures
- Lead research publications in top-tier journals and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to open-source quantum frameworks
- Secure government and industry grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Translate theoretical models into practical implementations using Qiskit and Cirq
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Quil)
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing venues
- Experience with superconducting qubits or trapped-ion systems
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Ability to secure competitive research funding through NSF/DoE proposals
