Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical machine learning frameworks for 2026 applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to validate quantum processor performance metrics
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $5M+ in DARPA and NSF quantum computing grants
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics (post-doc preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing experience with IBM Q or Rigetti systems
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and Qiskit/Cirq programming frameworks
- Published research in quantum machine learning or quantum algorithms
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum simulation tools
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation strategies
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters and GPU acceleration
- Strong track record of securing federal research grants
