Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing a comprehensive nursing care plan.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in accordance with approved nursing protocols.
- Monitor patient progress and response to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records and clinical outcomes.
- Respond to medical emergencies with appropriate triage and intervention.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Mexico.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or medical setting.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) when necessary.
