Responsibilities
- Assess and Monitor: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs, symptoms, and progress to ensure optimal recovery.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventative health strategies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and hospital standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations with a calm, professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.
