Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess cardiac patients using telemetry equipment, interpreting EKG rhythms and responding promptly to changes
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precise attention to dosage protocols
- Develop and implement individualized care plans focusing on cardiac rehabilitation and patient education
- Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless continuity of care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during high-stress cardiac events
- Mentor new nurses and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active DC RN license with minimum 2 years of telemetry or ICU experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- BSN degree strongly preferred (ADN candidates with relevant experience considered)
- Proficiency in Epic EHR system and cardiac monitoring technology
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize critical situations and maintain composure under pressure
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
