Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac patients including pre/post-op monitoring and intervention
- Administer medications, perform diagnostic tests, and interpret EKG rhythms
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health management and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with JCAHO standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency response protocols
- Mentor new staff and contribute to unit-based professional development activities
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Missouri
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years acute care cardiac nursing experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication abilities with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
