Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assess patient needs, administer medications, and implement care plans tailored to individual patient requirements.
- Monitor Patient Status: Continuously observe vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing supervisor or physician immediately.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient treatment.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease management, post-procedure care, and health maintenance strategies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies within the unit.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (NC) required.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required; ACLS/PALS preferred based on unit.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient and family engagement.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical equipment.
- Professionalism: Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to ethical nursing practices.
