Responsibilities
- Assess and triage emergency patients, prioritizing critical cases according to ESI protocols
- Administer medications, treatments, and life-saving interventions per physician orders
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EHR system with real-time updates
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and case managers
- Educate patients and families on discharge plans and preventive care measures
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control standards in high-acuity settings
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and trauma drills
Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license (compact license accepted)
- BSN preferred; ADN with 2+ years ED experience considered
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC or ENPC preferred
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in emergency/trauma setting
- Proficiency in electronic medical documentation systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Spanish bilingual skills strongly preferred for community service
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
