Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in emergency situations including trauma, cardiac events, and acute illnesses
- Administer medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures per physician protocols
- Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and document clinical observations accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and hospital safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current Michigan RN license with unrestricted practice status
- BSN degree preferred; ADN candidates with 2+ years ED experience considered
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in emergency or critical care setting
- Strong assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-stress situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Electronic health record (EHR) proficiency
