Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of patients' health status, identifying needs and developing appropriate nursing care plans.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to strict safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Clinical Care: Provide direct patient care, monitoring vital signs and responding immediately to any changes in patient condition.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions to promote health literacy and compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical records in compliance with hospital policies and legal regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN).
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred for most units.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical equipment.
- Compassion: Strong emotional resilience and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
