Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and support under the supervision of experienced nursing staff and charge nurses.
- Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and conditions to identify changes in health status and report immediately.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure comfort, dignity, and safety.
- Document patient care plans, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and unit-based meetings.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN).
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS certification preferred for new hires.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Compassionate demeanor and a patient-centered approach to care.
