Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to therapies, promptly reporting any changes in condition to the charge nurse or provider.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions to promote health literacy.
- Document all patient interactions, care provided, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other staff to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit rounds to maintain high standards of clinical excellence.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and diverse healthcare teams.
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting patients and assisting with mobility.
