Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans based on evidence-based practice.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict adherence to hospital protocols, standard operating procedures, and patient safety guidelines.
- Monitor patient vitals, symptoms, and responses to interventions; escalate critical issues immediately to the attending physician or charge nurse.
- Document all patient care activities, assessments, and responses to treatments accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a sterile environment and strictly follow infection control and prevention procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current, active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
