Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health status by performing comprehensive physical exams and reviewing medical histories.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on the nursing process and patient needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and according to hospital protocols.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs and symptoms, reporting any changes to the nursing supervisor or physician immediately.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
