Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by performing comprehensive physical exams and reviewing medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on the nursing process and patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and according to hospital protocols.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs and symptoms, reporting any changes to the nursing supervisor or physician immediately.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
