Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in accordance with established nursing protocols and physician orders
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patient responses and vital signs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
- Document patient assessments and care activities accurately in electronic health records
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans and health maintenance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance
- Respond effectively to emergency situations with rapid assessment and intervention
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas (or compact license)
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS for specialty units)
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills and cultural competency
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
