Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical guidelines.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict adherence to hospital protocols and patient safety standards.
- Monitor vital signs and patient conditions continuously, escalating critical issues immediately to the charge nurse or physician.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic patient care and positive outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment while adhering to infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of North Carolina (or compact state eligibility).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care or relevant nursing experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred based on unit.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in navigating Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
