Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assess patient needs, administer medications, and implement care plans under the supervision of licensed staff.
- Monitor Patient Status: Observe and report changes in patient condition, symptoms, or vital signs to the charge nurse or physician immediately.
- Document Care: Accurately and timely document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Ensure Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to create a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with Team: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist in Procedures: Support medical and surgical procedures as directed and prepare patients for examinations.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and health maintenance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- License: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Florida.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) required at hire.
- Graduation: Recent graduate from an accredited nursing program (within the last 12 months).
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and time management skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and a genuine desire to help patients.
