Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, documenting vital signs and medical histories accurately.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of senior nursing staff or physicians.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient updates and critical information to the interdisciplinary team and patients' families.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Maintain high standards of patient hygiene, comfort, and dignity during all care activities.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue situations and medical emergencies within the unit.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and medical equipment.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and emotional resilience when dealing with patients and families.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment.
