Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing comprehensive nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status, identifying potential complications and intervening promptly.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and home care instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Document patient care services, including assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care support during acute events.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting (preferred).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
