Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications and treatments while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and critical situations.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
