Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs continuously throughout the night shift.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in strict adherence to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide clear and compassionate education to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical incidents, utilizing advanced clinical judgment and life-saving protocols.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred, with a strong preference for Critical Care or Medical-Surgical experience.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Ability to work autonomously and maintain high standards of care during night shifts.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
