Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans based on evidence-based practice.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, strictly adhering to all safety protocols and hospital policies.
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status continuously, promptly reporting any significant changes to the charge nurse or physician.
- Document patient care activities, including intake, output, and clinical observations, in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic patient care and smooth shift transitions.
- Provide emotional support and patient education to families and patients during the night shift hours.
- Respond immediately to emergency codes and critical situations with composure and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of New Mexico.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or medical-surgical setting.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-stress environment.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
