Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient conditions during night hours, administering medications and treatments per physician orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document patient information accurately in Epic EHR system with strict attention to detail
- Respond to emergency situations using ACLS protocols and rapid response team protocols
- Provide patient and family education on conditions, medications, and discharge planning
- Supervise LPNs and nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process optimization
Qualifications
- Current unrestricted RN license in Virginia (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience with telemetry/ICU background preferred
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EHR and point-of-care technology
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient acuity during night shifts
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams
