Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during night shifts, including assessment, medication administration, and treatment coordination
- Monitor vital signs, interpret diagnostic results, and respond promptly to emergency situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times
- Supervise LVNs/CNAs and provide clinical guidance to night shift support staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous education programs
- Oversee admissions, discharges, and patient transfers during overnight hours
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana RN license with no disciplinary actions
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in hospital setting
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment for independent decision-making
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient and team collaboration
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, low-supervision environments
- Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
