Responsibilities
- Assess and Monitor: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs to ensure optimal health outcomes during the night shift.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments while adhering to strict hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Clinical Care: Provide direct patient care, including wound care, IV therapy, and patient hygiene, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, physicians, and patients' families to coordinate care plans and report critical changes in condition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient care, medications, and responses to treatment.
- Emergency Response: Quickly respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate life-saving protocols when necessary.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska (or compact state eligibility).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced night shift environment.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods as required by the nursing role.
