Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission and throughout the shift to identify changes in health status.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient care, interventions, and outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies, utilizing critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Support: Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; PALS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred; night shift experience is a plus.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and time management skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to navigate electronic medical records and hospital information systems efficiently.
