Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient health status upon admission and throughout the shift.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Monitor vital signs and clinical indicators to identify changes in patient condition requiring immediate intervention.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Document all patient care activities, observations, and responses to treatment accurately and timely.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Provide emotional support and health education to patients and their families during critical times.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively within a rotating night shift schedule.
