Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, and develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor and record vital signs and symptoms, noting any changes that may indicate a change in the patient's condition.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Document patient care services in medical records and clinical information systems in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital policies and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
