Job Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. This role requires a high level of clinical judgment, critical thinking, and a commitment to excellence in patient advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing comprehensive nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians according to approved standards of care.
- Monitor patient progress and response to treatment, documenting all care provided accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-discharge care.
- Respond to emergencies and critical situations with appropriate intervention and de-escalation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred for this role.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- CPR/BLS certification required (ACLS preferred).
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends as required.
