Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor patient progress to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Collaboration: Work seamlessly with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate high-quality patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and timely electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies, utilizing critical thinking and triage skills to ensure patient safety.
- Health Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California (or compact state eligible).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Compassion: Strong bedside manner with a genuine passion for patient advocacy and wellness.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by department needs.
