Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans to meet the physical and emotional needs of patients.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient progress and interventions.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Crisis Management: Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition using critical thinking and clinical judgment.
- Education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- License: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Diploma graduates accepted.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency with electronic health records, and excellent communication abilities.
- Soft Skills: Empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
