Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Needs: Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and monitor patient health status to identify changes requiring intervention.
- Administer Care: Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and treatment procedures according to physician orders.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Continuously observe and record vital signs and other medical information to track patient progress.
- Document Records: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and patient charts in compliance with hospital standards and HIPAA regulations.
- Educate Patients/Families: Provide clear instructions to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, and home care instructions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in code blue situations when necessary.
Qualifications
- License: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations are also considered.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and medical equipment operation.
- Compassion: Strong dedication to patient advocacy and high-quality patient care standards.
