Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments and provide direct, compassionate nursing care to a diverse patient population.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established hospital protocols.
- Vital Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical status, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the charge nurse or provider.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions to promote recovery.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue and emergency situations, demonstrating critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Colorado Board of Nursing.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Compassion: Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others in a high-pressure healthcare environment.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn hospital-specific electronic medical record systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
