Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Perform routine vital sign checks and monitor patients for any changes in condition, reporting critical findings to the charge nurse immediately.
- Administer Care: Provide direct patient care including medication administration, wound care, and dressing changes according to physician orders.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Documentation: Accurately and timely document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the wider healthcare team to ensure holistic patient care.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, including Code Blue or trauma activations, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Current, unencumbered RN license issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: No prior clinical experience required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills and proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
