Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by performing physical examinations and reviewing medical histories.
- Develop and implement comprehensive nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient progress and response to therapy, adjusting care plans immediately when necessary.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, post-discharge care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, and social workers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and clinical data in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Respond to emergent situations and code blue events with rapid assessment and intervention.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in Telemetry or Med-Surg.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
