Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient assessments via phone and in-person to determine medical acuity levels.
- Utilize clinical judgment to triage symptoms and recommend appropriate interventions or referrals.
- Document all triage interactions and patient assessments accurately in the EMR system.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide patient education regarding symptoms, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Manage high-volume call queues efficiently while maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor.
- Escalate critical medical situations immediately to the on-call provider.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered RN license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in Emergency or Urgent Care.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
