Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patient health status to identify needs and changes.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments according to strict hospital protocols and legal standards.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations) and report any abnormalities to the healthcare team immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters and interventions.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease management, discharge instructions, medication side effects, and preventative care strategies.
- Crisis Management: Respond effectively to medical emergencies and assist in code blue situations within the emergency department or medical floor.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Experience: No prior nursing experience required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn over experience.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
