Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care including assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond swiftly to changes or emergencies within the unit.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based committees.
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and ongoing care needs.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as necessary throughout the shift.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
