Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs with precision and care.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Document patient care activities, including changes in condition and response to treatment, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and utilize critical thinking skills to resolve patient care issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their health conditions and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, with experience in a medical-surgical or acute care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating or fixed schedule.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to professional development and adherence to healthcare regulatory standards.
