Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols, ensuring patient safety and accuracy.
- Monitor patient vitals and clinical status continuously, escalating critical issues immediately to the charge nurse or provider.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Provide clear education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control standards and OSHA regulations at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting (Med-Surg, ICU, or Telemetry preferred).
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Willingness to cross-train and adapt to different unit needs.
