Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive health assessments, monitor vital signs, and document patient progress accurately in electronic health records.
- Clinical Care: Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols; manage patient care plans to ensure optimal recovery.
- Communication: Serve as the primary communicator between patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit.
- Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, discharge instructions, and preventative health measures.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain strict adherence to hospital safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required or obtainable within 6 months of hire.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, decision-making abilities, and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume environment.
