In this critical role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking medical advice, ensuring rapid assessment and appropriate care coordination. This is a high-volume position requiring sharp clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive phone and virtual triage assessments to evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate level of care.
- Prioritize patient care efficiently, distinguishing between urgent, emergent, and non-urgent situations.
- Document clinical findings and recommendations accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Coordinate referrals to providers, specialists, or urgent care facilities as needed.
- Manage inbound call volume with a focus on patient satisfaction and clinical safety.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to improve triage protocols and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered RN License in the State of California.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a clinical nursing setting, preferably in triage or telehealth.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly.
- Proficient in using EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar).
