Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and symptom analysis to determine the appropriate level of care and urgency.
- Direct patient flow and coordinate referrals to appropriate specialists, urgent care, or emergency departments.
- Document all triage interactions accurately, timely, and in strict compliance with HIPAA and organizational protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to manage patient data and documentation efficiently.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to improve triage protocols and patient satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a triage, urgent care, or telehealth setting.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
