Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive, real-time patient assessments via phone and triage software to accurately determine medical urgency and appropriate level of care.
- Provide clear, evidence-based medical advice and triage instructions to patients and their families, ensuring they understand next steps.
- Collaborate seamlessly with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate urgent care plans and referrals.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and disposition plans meticulously in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Manage high-volume call queues while maintaining composure, accuracy, and a patient-centric approach under pressure.
- Stay updated on current medical protocols, triage guidelines, and pharmaceutical information to ensure safe decision-making.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous education to refine triage protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nevada (NV RN License required).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent experience in emergency nursing, urgent care, or medical triage preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications mandatory.
- Strong proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Excellent verbal communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a plus.
