In this pivotal role, you will serve as the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring they receive the right care at the right time.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and virtual triage assessments for patients presenting with a variety of symptoms.
- Utilize clinical decision-making skills to prioritize patient care and recommend appropriate treatment plans or referrals.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Document all triage encounters, assessments, and care plans accurately and timely within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Provide patient education and resources to promote health literacy and self-management.
- Manage high-volume call volumes while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a triage, urgent care, or telehealth setting.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is required.
- Strong computer proficiency with EMR systems and typing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing patient volumes and clinical protocols.
