Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precise documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care coordination
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed to optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and self-care management
- Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response protocols
Qualifications
- Active DC Registered Nurse license (RN) in good standing
- BSN degree (ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Minimum 1-2 years of acute care or hospital experience
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
