Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assess patient health status by performing physical exams and reviewing medical histories.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient care activities and outcomes.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and critical situations utilizing advanced clinical judgment.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to hospital infection control policies and hygiene standards to ensure patient and staff safety.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with strong externships are encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
