Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Care Planning: Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to strict medical protocols and physician orders.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other staff to coordinate seamless patient care.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease management, post-discare instructions, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient progress and interventions.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to critical situations and emergencies within the unit.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks as needed.
