Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing a comprehensive nursing care plan.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in accordance with nursing protocols.
- Monitor patient response to therapies and intervene immediately in emergency situations.
- Document patient care services in medical records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care and health maintenance.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the District of Columbia Board of Nursing.
- BSN degree preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred based on unit.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
