Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical and mental health assessments to formulate accurate nursing diagnoses.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Care Planning: Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Health Education: Educate patients and their families regarding disease management, medications, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and timely records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Vital Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vitals and report significant changes to the charge nurse or physician immediately.
- Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, therapists, and other staff to ensure holistic patient care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of New Mexico.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills and proficiency with electronic medical records.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.
